What is Ozone?

Ozone (O3) is a very high energy form of two atmospheric oxygen (O2), consisting of three oxygen atoms.

Ozone can be found in nature. The smell of fresh, clean rain after a storm is actually the smell of ozone 
generated by oxygen during the electrical discharge in the atmosphere. People are familiar to ozone because of the ozone layer. Ozone gas, which forms the ozone layer, is produced by ultraviolet rays from the sun and protects the earth from ultraviolet radiation.

What does Ozone do?

Ozone is one of the most powerful disinfectants and used for the elimination of bacteria, viruses and odor. The third oxygen atom in ozone interacts with bacteria, viruses and odor molecules, destroying their structure. The process is called oxidation. Ozone leaves no waste and only oxygen (O2) remains after oxidation.

Ozone is used in both air purification and water treatment. 

How is ozone produced?

Ozone gas cannot be stored because it is an unstable gas and ozone converts into oxygen molecule over time. Therefore, ozone must be produced and used where and when it is needed. Raw material of ozone molecule is oxygen.

High concentrations of ozone are harmful to living things, so ozone should be produced and used carefully.

What are the components of Ozone System?

An ozone system consists of four main components.

1. Supply Air Preperation

Clean and dry air (%21 O2) is used in processes where low ozone concentration is needed, while concentrated oxygen (>%90 O2) is common for high ozone production. 

2. Ozone Production

We use corona discharge method in our ozone generators.

3. Ozone transfer to air or water

A pump and fan are used to mix the ozone into the air, while a venturi or a mixing tank is used to mix the 
ozone into the water. Ozone that is not mixed into the water is converted to oxygen.

4. Control and Monitoring Systems

We have ozone measurement systems that measure the concentration of ozone in the environment in order to ensure that high concentrations of ozone gas are harmful to living things and that they are suitable for their intended use.

We produce supply air systems, ozone generation and measurement systems and control systems that operate the other parameters in order to produce and use ozone production in the required amount.
